Ialways ask myself how the author can keep writing this series and each book bethat good, yet she does it every time. This is book 15 and I recommend youstart at the beginning, as there is a background story that resides in eachbook. You could probably follow along, but why strain yourself?
Theromance between Trager and Emily was a rocky road to be sure, with ampleroadblocks thrown in their way not including their own insecurities and lack offaith. The author has offered glimpses of Emily in previous books, and now wehave her story and it's a doozy. Never saw the big revelation that explainedall of Emily's woes. Trager is a victim of his own moral code that resulted ina devastating loss, making him unable/unwilling to try to love again. Hisemotional crisis led to a religious one and he's a pro at beating himself up atthis point. These two need each other and by some miracle find each other. It'sup to them to accept the gift given.
Asusual, the world building blows me away. The nemesis of previous books stilllurks behind the curtain, and I see a book coming from that direction. Theauthor provided a "lovely" character for me to actively dislike and to cheerwhen she received her comeuppance. I enjoyed the glimpses into previous bride'slives and how they are still sticking together and helping new additions totheir group.
Tragerand Emily make their way through the book and to each other, exhibiting a lovethat is truly blessed. There is no quick jump into bed but a slow build thatpays off spectacularly. A definite keeper.
